Alison (2018) was in collaboration with academic and artist Alison Williams, who lives with Parkinson’s disease. As part of the filming process we discussed and held conversations about her refusal to sit with the disease, and to not accept its framing. The work investigated the role between filmmaker and subject, the edit and perpetual image - forging new paths of understanding.
